a visit to Bluemont

I love going up to my parent's house when it's nice outside...there is nothing that makes me happier than seeing Chase get to run around like a crazy person...and not breaking any rules while doing it. haha...OK, seriously.

Here are a few pictures of the kids from yesterday, up at my parents. Addy wanted me to pass along that SHE CANNOT WAIT until she can get rid of her hat...every picture I have of her outside she is wearing that stinking hat! It's the only one she will keep on her head though, and it was pretty cool outside.

The mulch saga continues

OK, Addy is killing me with the whole eating mulch thing at the park! She only lasts so long in the swing then she is yelling to get down. You put her on the ground and she goes to town picking up mulch and shoving it in her mouth...


As I was sitting in the middle of the playground in the mulch with her, so that I could pry it out of her little fists, I had an "AHA! moment"...I think I'm going to try bringing a shovel and beach bucket with us next time to see if she'd like to play with that. She does like to grab a handful and give it to me, so maybe she'll enjoy being able to dig around.


Two pictures from last night...Chase being Mr. Independent pulling Addy along in the wagon, and then pushing his bike...the last few times we've brought it out for him to ride, he won't ride it...not sure what's up with that? BUT he will rock the helmet with the lion fur on it...weird kid!





Oh, and no pictures of Addy from last night...she has been MISERABLE the last few evenings b/c she's teething hard-core...so she wasn't in the most pleasant of moods ;o)

The Easter Bunny Came to your house too? No Way!

OK...super mom candidate over here...

Addy went down for her second nap Saturday Night at around 6 or so...her schedule was a TAD off...and she ended up sleeping through the night.


Sweet, right? Yes and No!!!


The problem was that I had stashed all of the Easter goodies in her closet in various Target bags...so there was no sneaking in while she was sleeping to get the bags out...they would have woken her up and she would have been ready to party until midnight.


So, I had to hurry around Sunday morning to get their baskets done. Gah! So, no pictures of the finished product.


A neat idea someone gave me was to sprinkle cotton balls in a trail from the kids rooms down the stairs and leading up to their baskets. That ended up being a hit and Chase would point down to them, say "mess" and the jump like a rabbit. I think I'll definitely keep that tradition up...it was really cute and easy to clean up...next year he'll know what it's leading to!


Addy loved her bunny head band and kept it on for quite a while...being a trooper.


Chase's chocolate face...he got one piece of Candy in his basket...I'm mean like that!

Viva Mariachi!

Friday night, we took Chase and Addy and the rest of the fam out to eat at Mariachi in Lansdowne...it's our favorite Mexican restaurant and they have THE BEST margaritas ;o)

Addy is obsessed with the cute little Mariachi guys that play on Thursday and Friday nights...Chase couldn't be bothered b/c he was exhausted from not having a nap up at my Mom's. Notice the lipstick-like stain on the table cloth in front of Addy...sweet potatoes...nice!

Really?!?!? Here goes!

Chase was being a wild-man (shocker) yesterday and threw a dvd case down...I bent down to pick it up and he came flying up and by brow-bone connected with the top or back of his HARD HEAD.

Holy Cow...I saw stars, and it was THIS CLOSE to breaking open and bleeding all over the place.

The ONLY thing that made it better was that when I was holding ice on it, Chase climbed up into my lap and held it for me...the little shit.

It hurts just sitting here! Gah! Luckily it didn't tear open and luckily I look somewhat normal with my eye open and I think I can cover it up with makeup...that is going to HURT like crap though. I will probably die today working out b/c I'm sure it will be thumping with all of the jumping up and down I'll be doing.

I'm going to have a uni-brow by the time it heals up enough for me to get my eyebrows waxed...I hate tweezing.

Addy wasn't ready for bed!

Megan did a post yesterday on Cade in his big-boy jammies...Addy rocks the same kind b/c Bruce gets her dressed at night and he likes putting her in these so much better than the button up the footie kind...she is way too squirmy! I pick these up at Old Navy whenever they go on sale.

Look at how her belly is sticking out...she had just chugged her milk and wasn't ready for bed yet! Note the red mark on her forehead...she ALWAYS has to have 2 things in her hands and she had dropped one of her blocks under the couch so she was crouched down trying to get it out...I missed her doing this as I ran to get the camera...she must have had her head pressed up against the couch. Silly girl

Homegirl was NOT trying to go to sleep last night so she stayed up and watched most of LOST with me until I finally had enough and put her to bed. :o)

CHASE on the other hand didn't have a nap yesterday and was passed out in my lap before 8pm...he slept until 7. Rockstar.

Can I just brag for a second?

I am 14-2 in my brackets so far...In 2nd place in a pool of 32 (mostly guys).

I'll probably lose at the end again since I have UCLA taking it...my tie-breaker is 184 points...Bruce chastised me and said that UCLA and Kansas are both low scoring teams...whoops!

It's a fun way to keep up with the games though...I can't get as irritated with Bruce being glued to the TV if I'm following along too. This must be why he makes me do it every year!
